3A And 4A Basketball Top Five Recaps

Three of the four top ranked teams in 3A and 4A girls and boys basketball won their games in the final week of the regual season. Gillette girls lost to Cheyenne East 70-69.

The 4A and 3A regional tournaments  get underway this Thursday. The 4A west is in Rock Springs and the east is in Sheridan. The 3A regionals will be in Wheatland and Cody.

Class 4A Boys:

#1 Gillette (20-2) won home vs. East, 86-62, won home vs. Central, 97-47.

#2 Rock Springs (19-4) lost at Star Valley, 75-66 OT, lost at #4 Evanston, 67-58.

#3 Natrona (16-6) won vs. Kelly Walsh, 72-41, won at Riverton, 68-50.

#4 Evanston (18-5) won at Green River, 47-44, won home vs. #2 Rock Springs, 67-58.

#5 Laramie (13-10) won at Kelly Walsh, 54-43.

Class 3A Boys:

#1 Torrington (20-4) won home vs. Scottsbluff, NE, 55-46, won home vs. Thermopolis, 69-29, won at #3 Rawlins, 76-44.

#2 Buffalo (19-4) won home vs. Glenrock, 92-37, won home vs. #5 (tie) Douglas, 69-52.

#3 Rawlins (16-6) won at South, 82-47, lost home vs. #1 Torrington, 76-44.

#4 Wheatland (19-5) won at South, 78-29, won home vs. Newcastle, 68-52.

#5 (tie) Douglas (12-12) lost at #2 Buffalo, 69-52.

#5 (tie) Powell (12-9) lost at Worland, 56-48, won home vs. Cody, 61-49 OT.

Class 4A Girls:

#1 Gillette (17-5) lost at East, 70-69, won at #5 Central, 55-49.

#2 Sheridan (19-3) won at #5 Central, 78-61, lost at East, 57-54.

#3 Laramie (16-5) home game vs. Kelly Walsh won 73-35

#4 Natrona (15-7) won at Casper College, vs. Kelly Walsh, 62-31, won at Riverton, 55-9.

#5 Central (18-7) lost home vs. #2 Sheridan, 78-61, lost home vs. #1 Gillette, 55-49.

Class 3A Girls:

#1 Douglas (22-2) won at Buffalo, 43-33.

#2 Mountain View (21-2) won at Lyman, 38-27.

#3 Cody (19-5) won at Powell, 54-31, won home vs. Lander, 59-48.

#4 Wheatland (18-6) won home vs. South, 79-26, won home vs. Newcastle, 65-19.
