4A Boys Basketball With A Shake Up In This Week’s Top Five
The Rock Springs Tigers are the new number one team in 4A boys basketball in this week's Wyopreps.com,Coach's and Media poll. The Tigers who received 7 of the 12 first place votes won their only game of the week over Green River 70-45. That coupled with Gillette's loss to Laramie on Sauturday 64-57 boosted Rock Springs to the top spot. The Camels who picked up the other five first place votes not only lost to their first Wyoming team but lost in the East Conference for the first time in nearly five years. Sheridan remains number three with two wins over Laramie and Kelly Walsh. Evanston moves up number four following the Red Devils 53-50 win over Natrona Saturday afternoon. The Mustangs drop to fifth. In 3A, Buffalo remains in the top spot with all 17 first place votes Wheatland is number two, but lost to number three Torrington 47-45 on Tuesday night after the poll was released. Douglas moves into the poll at fourth. Rawlins despite two losses last week to Wheatland and Douglas stays in the poll at fifth. Powell drops out after a loss to rival Cody 66-53. The 2A poll remains tight on top with once beaten Lovell holding on to the top spot with 11 first place votes. Unbeaten Big Horn picked up the other eight first place votes. Kemmerer and Wyoming Indian remain third and fourth. Lusk replaces Tongue River in fifth. And in the 1A, Unbeaten Snake River remains on top. St. Stephens is second in this week's poll followed by Hanna. Kaycee is fourth and Ten Sleep is fith who lost to St. Stephens last week 104-73.
