August 13th is International Left Handers Day every year and although we only make up an estimated 5% to 20% of the entire world population, we deserve our own holiday. Even more than that, we deserve our own club, and luckily for us, we have one!

The UK-based website Anything Left Handed has quite literally anything left handed a person could want or need, but they also offer official membership in the International Left-Handers Club.

International Left Handers Day was first observed in the year 1976 by Dean R. Campbell, who is  the founder of the Lefthanders International, INC.

There is a surprisingly list of famous left handers, especially considering how few of us there is worldwide. The list includes, Oprah Winfrey, Bill Gates, Jimi Hendricks, Kurt Cobain, Justin Beiber, Prince William, Paul McCartney, Eminem, Leonardo da Vinci, Napoleon Bonaparte, Aristotle, baseball legend Babe Ruth and the first African-American president Barrack Obama (and that barely scratches the surface).
