UNDATED (AP) — The Boston Bruins improved to 8-1-1 on the road by continuing their mastery of the New York Islanders.

The B's are 16-3-1 in their last 20 games versus the Isles following a 4-1 victory at Nassau Coliseum. Brad Marchand scored the go-ahead goal 38 seconds into the second period before David Krejci (KRAY'-chee) made it 3-1 less than five minutes later.

Patrice Bergeron (pah-TREES' BEHR'-zhur-ahn) and Tyler Seguin (SAY'-gihn) each had two assists, and Tuukka Rask stopped 36 shots as the Bruins improved to 12-2-2 overall this season.

Also on ice, Florida blew a 4-1 lead before Tomas Fleischmann scored his 100th career goal 3:29 into the third period of the Panthers' 6-4 win against Pittsburgh. Tomas Kopecky (koh-PETS'-kee) capped his first career hat trick by scoring into an open net.

Olli Jokinen (OH'-lee YOH'-kih-nehn) tallied twice in Winnipeg's 4-3 verdict over the New York Rangers. Evander Kane had a goal and an assist as the Jets completed a 4-1 road trip to move back to .500.

Nicklas Backstrom had a goal and an assist in Washington's 3-0 win over Carolina. Braden Holtby turned back 33 shots for his fifth career shutout.

Kyle Chipchura scored the first and last goals as Phoenix doubled up Vancouver 4-2. Mikkel Boedker and Antoine Vermette also scored to support Mike Smith, who made 29 saves.

Dallas beat Columbus 5-4 on Loui (LOO'-ee) Ericksson's goal at 3:03 of overtime. Cody Eakin, Antoine Roussel (roo-SEHL') and Derek Roy each had a goal and an assist for the Stars, who blew four one-goal leads before winning for only the second time in five games.

Ron Rolston has his first victory in three games as Buffalo's head coach after Tyler Myers snapped a 1-1 deadlock early in the third period of the Sabres' 2-1 win at Tampa Bay. Ryan Miller made 30 saves and improved to 19-7-0 against the Lightning while helping the Sabres halt a four-game losing streak.

Zach Parise (pah-REE'-say) scored 27 seconds into overtime to end Minnesota's 2-1 triumph over Calgary. Flames goaltender Joey MacDonald had a shutout until Jason Zucker scored with 4:19 left in regulation.

Patrick Marleau scored the deciding shootout goal in San Jose's 3-2 win against Colorado. Logan Couture (koo-TOOR') gave the Sharks their first lead just 25 seconds into the game, but Avalanche goaltender Semyon Varlamov settled down to make 39 saves.

NEWARK, N.J. (AP) — The New Jersey Devils have placed goaltender Martin Brodeur (mar-TAN' broh-DOOR') on injured reserve with a sore back.

The move is retroactive to Sunday, in which the Devils lost at home to Winnipeg 4-2 with Brodeur on the bench. He also didn't play in a 5-1 loss the day before in Washington.

The 40-year old goalie must miss at least seven days so he won't be able to return to action until at least Monday in Toronto.

UNDATED (AP) — A pair of veteran NHL forwards and rejoining their original teams.

The Los Angeles Kings have traded left wing Simon Gagne (see-MOHN' GAHN'-yay') to the Philadelphia Flyers for a conditional draft pick. Gagne has been a healthy scratch recently and has failed to score a goal in 11 games this year. He spent the first 10 seasons of his NHL career with Philadelphia, scoring 259 goals and 524 points in 664 games.

The Dallas Stars have traded right wing Michael Ryder back to the Montreal Canadiens, along with a third-round draft pick for right wing Erik Cole. The 32-year-old Ryder has six goals and 14 points in 19 games this year, while the 24-year-old Cole has three goals and six points in 19 contests.

Ryder scored 99 goals and 207 points in four seasons with Montreal before joining Boston in 2008.
