A number of Natrona County area fire departments are sending crews across the region to help as wildland fires are becoming very active across the southwest and into the Rockies.

Casper Fire-EMS officials say Brush Five with a three person crew, sent earlier this week to the 416 Fire in Colorado, has now been assigned to the Trail Mountain Fire in Utah. A task force leader from the department is also in Durango, on the 416 Fire. According to Public Information Officer Patrick McJunkin, crews generally commit to a minimum 14 day assignment, sometimes longer. He says as personnel are available to go out this year they anticipate their trucks and people to stay busy.

Meantime, Evansville Fire-EMS Brush 12 with a three person crew has been assigned to the Badger Creek Fire in Southern Albany County and headed out Wednesday morning. Bar Nunn Fire Department’s Brush 11-3 has also been assigned to that fire with a crew of three, and Natrona County Fire District sent Brush 7-4 with a three person crew to the Badger Creek Fire on Tuesday.
