Casper College Opens Up Play At National Volleyball Tourney-Daily Sports Update

Casper College begins play in the National Junior College Volleyball Tournament in West Plains, Missouri this afternoon. The T-Birds will take on San Jacinto, Texas. San Jac is seeded 4th in the tournament but the number one ranked team in the nation at 33-2 on the year. The Birds are seeded 13th with a record of 23-17. The match is scheduled for 2:00pm this afternoon and win or lose, Casper will be in action tomorrow in the double elimination tournament.

Casper College Men's and Women's basketball teams are at home through Saturday hosting the Pizza Hut Invitational at Erickson Gym. The T-Bird women are in action tonight when they host Snow College from Utah at 7:30pm. The T-Birds will take on College of Eastern Utah at 5:30pm Friday and Northeastern Junior College of Sterling, Colorado at 5:30pm on Satruday.

The T-Bird men will host Salt Lake Community College Friday night at 7:30pm and College of Southern Idaho at 7:30pm on Saturday night. Casper is 2-1 on the year beating Eastern Wyoming, losing to Snow College by 1 after being down 16-0 in that game. Then an overtime win over LCCC in Cheyenne. All of the T-Bird men's and women's games at the Pizza Hut Invitational can be heard on AM 1400 ESPN.

The Wyoming Cowboys are on the road this Saturday at UNLV. The Pokes are 3-7 after a 28-23 win over New Mexico last Saturday in Albuquerque. UNLV is 2-9 on the year after losing to Colorado State last Saturday. Kickoff is at 2:00pm from Las Vegas and on AM 1030 KTWO.
