Casper College Remains Unbeaten In Region-IX Volleyball Tourney

The Region-IX Volleyball Tournament continues in Powell, and the Casper College T-Birds remain one of only two teams unbeaten. On Thursday the Birds beat the host team Northwest College 3 games to none to advance to the championship round this afternoon when they play Laramie County Community College at 2:00pm. LCCC knocked off nationally ranked Western Wyoming of Rock Springs 3 games to 2, to also remain unbeaten. The winner of the Casper/LCCC match will advance to the championship match Saturday at noon. The loser will play at 6:00pm tonight against the winner of the Northwest College/Western Wyoming Match. The Region champion advances to the national JUCO  tournament in West Plains, Missouri.

Casper College men's basketball team started out the season with a big win over Eastern Wyoming Thursday night 87-57 at Erickson Gym. Remi Debo led the way with 19 points. Eastern helped the T-Birds cause with 35 turnovers. The T-Birds will host Snow College on Saturday during the Tip-Off Classic. The Casper College women will open up their season tonight at home when they will take on Southern Idaho at 5:30pm. The women will play Salt Lake Community College at 5:30pm Saturday. Both men's and women's games on Saturday will be on AM 1400 ESPN with Marcus Hayden and Chris Crossen.
