Casper Natrona and Kelly Walsh basketball teams were in action over the weekend. In the Prep Game of the Week Friday night, Gillette downed Natrona 58-55.The Mustangs kept it close this time around, after losing on Dec. 9th by 19-points 73-54. Gillette led after one quarter 15-14 and stretched it to a nine point lead 26-17 before Natrona went on a 12-0 run and led at halftime 29-26. But the Camels came back in the third and outscored the Mustangs 18-10  and led 44-39 going into the fourth.  Cory Peck led the NC with 19 points including 10 of 12 from the foul line. Tof Chapin and Nathan Pieper each had 10. Logan Wasson  led the Camels with 15 points with Cody Anderson with 11 points. Gillette also knocked down 7 3-pointers  including 4 in the first quarter.

On Saturday, the Mustangs played their first home game of the season after 12 games on the road to start the season, falling to Sheridan 55-44. The Mustangs (4-9) are home to open the conference schedule  with Evanston Friday night and Green River Saturday afternoon.

The NC Fillies continued their outstanding and unbeaten season with two wins this weekend. Defeating defending state champion Gillette on Friday night at home 56-35 and then at Sheridan on Saturday 52-46. The Fillies (11-0) open their conference schedule at Evanston Friday night and Green River Saturday afternoon.

The Kelly Walsh boys lost a pair of games over the weekend. They lost Friday night at Gering Neb. 52-39, and  to Gillette at home Saturday 61-40.  The Trojans (2-9) entertain Green River Friday night in the Prep Game of the Week on AM 1400 ESPN. The Trojans move over to the West Conference this year as Cheyenne South moves into the 4A and will play in the Eastern Conference. The Trojans will host Evanston on Saturday afternoon.

The Kelly Walsh Girls lost at Gillette Saturday 77-28. The Trojans (4-8) are at Green River Friday night and Evanston Saturday afternoon to open play in West Conference play.
