Casper police officers on Sunday arrested a man after he allegedly broke into a woman's home and injured a child.

Jorge Luiz Aguirre, 29, was booked into jail on recommended charges of criminal trespass, child endangerment, disturbing the peace and felony property destruction. He will likely make his initial appearance in Natrona County Circuit Court at 2 p.m. Monday.

According to an affidavit of probable cause released by the Casper Police Department, three officers responded to a home in the 800 block of East Third Street at roughly 6:30 p.m. Sunday for a reported disturbance.

Officers arrived and spoke with the woman who had called police. She said that Aguirre, her ex-boyfriend, had broken a window and entered her residence. She said multiple children were inside.

Police officers also saw that the woman's vehicle, a maroon Suzuki passenger car, had damage to the windshield and all windows.

Officers knocked on the door of the home, and the woman told her children to open the door. While police knocked, Aguirre threw the door open and stepped outside. Officers noted that he seemed incredibly agitated.

Meanwhile, the woman's children ran to her. They were reportedly crying and very distraught as a result of the incident.

The woman later told police that she and Aguirre had gotten into an argument via text message. About five minutes after the argument, she heard a window break and heard Aguirre "ranting to himself" inside the residence.

That's when she decided to push the screen out of one of her bedroom windows so she could run to a neighbor's house and call 911. While she was at the neighbor's residence, she saw Aguirre exit her home and hit her vehicle with a skateboard.

A man who had been inside the residence in question during the incident said that Aguirre had been very hostile. At one point, Aguirre kicked a door open, knocking a toddler into a wall. Police noted a red mark on the child's face.

Aguirre was arrested and booked into jail.
