A man who allegedly escaped from the Casper Re-entry Center last week is back in custody.

Alexander Cochran, 20, was arrested on Friday afternoon and charged with escape after he failed to return to the Re-entry Center on Tuesday.

Cochran heard the single of felony count of escape during his initial appearance before Natrona County Circuit Court Judge Steve Brown on Monday.

Because of his lengthy criminal history, Brown set his bond at $10,000. Cochran will appear for a preliminary hearing within a few weeks to determine whether his case will be bound over to district court for trial.

If convicted, he faces a sentence of up to 10 years in prison.

Last week, Natrona County Sheriff Sgt. Aaron Shatto said Cochran was sentenced before District Judge Catherine Wilking last year on felony charges of burglary and theft.
