A day after his arrest at the elementary school where he works, a Casper teacher appeared in court and pleaded not guilty to four criminal charges.

Kellan Holbrook, 33, faces two counts of domestic battery, one count of reckless endangerment and one charge of child endangerment. The charges are all misdemeanors.

The four charges comprise two separate criminal cases against Holbrook. A judge set bond in each case at $500, with the amounts running consecutively.

Holbrook was ordered to have no contact with the victims, should he be released on bond.

He was arrested on multiple warrants Monday at Crest Hill Elementary School, where he works as a second-grade teacher. Casper police officers took him into custody after he left his classroom, then proceeded to escort him out through a side door.

Natrona County Circuit Court records show that Holbrook has faced a number of criminal charges in recent years.

The two most recent charges against him -- reckless endangering and first-offense domestic violence -- stem from an Aug. 10 incident. The Natrona County Sheriff's warrant search webpage showed two active warrants for Holbrook as of Monday afternoon.

A 2017 domestic battery charge was dismissed by prosecutors, as was a criminal trespass charge filed in the same year.

In 2016, Holbrook was charged with child endangerment as a first offense, domestic violence and violating a protective order, the latter charge having been dismissed by prosecutors.

Holbrook's now-former wife filed for divorce in the fall of 2016, saying that he physically abused her in front of their children.

Tanya Southerland, a spokesperson for the Natrona County School District, said she was unable to comment on Tuesday. Should the district elect to make a statement, this story would be updated to include their comment.
