Casper police on Tuesday arrested woman after she reportedly ran from police and briefly hid in a bathroom before she was apprehended.

Ralyssa Leigh Allison, 27, was booked into jail on recommended charges of driving while under suspension, no insurance, no registration, possession of marijuana and interference. She will likely make her initial appearance in Natrona County Circuit Court at 2 p.m. Wednesday.

Charging papers filed against Allison state that a Casper police officer was on patrol in the area of 150 S. McKinley shortly before 3 p.m. Tuesday when the officer saw a silver Pontiac with expired registration.

Upon checking the registration, the officer found that Allison had multiple warrants for her arrest. A recent book-in photo of Allison matched the appearance of the driver, so the officer tried to stop the Pontiac as it drove west down the alley between First and Second Streets toward Jefferson Street.

The Pontiac pulled into a parking spot behind 902 E. Second Street, and Allison took off running to the north. Despite commands to stop, she kept running.

Pedestrians told the officer that Allison had run into a doctor's office at 111 S. Jefferson. The officer went into the building and was told that Allison had entered and asked about the location of the bathroom.

Another officer arrived to assist and the pair searched the bathrooms, eventually finding Allison hiding in the women's bathroom against the wall with the lights off.

Allison reportedly told the officers that she ran because she knew she had warrants.

One officer smelled a strong odor of marijuana coming from the silver Pontiac which Allison had been driving, and a search allegedly turned up a marijuana pipe in the center console.
