The Chicago Blackhawks won the opening game of the Stanley Cup Finals with a 3-overtime 4-3 win over the Boston Bruins. It was the 5th longest finals game in the history of the NHL with game 2 on Saturday in Chicago.

The College National Finals Rodeo continues at the Casper Events Center. The Wyoming contingent is doing well. Casey Breuer of Gillette College is running 2nd in the average of the bareback. Zeke Thurston of Sheridan College is in 6th place in the Saddle Bronc. Gillette College is 7th in the team standings, with Dane Kissick running 2nd in the All-Around event.

In the ladies side, Shaylee Hance from Central Wyoming College in Riverton leading the Goat Tying with 20 and 1 on 3. Kaycee Nelson of the University of Wyoming in 2nd place in the Breakaway Roping with an 8 and 6 on 3. Teammate Lydia Coe is 10th. Gillette College is in 8th place in the team standings. In golf, the U.S. Open is underway from Merion outside of Philadelphia. Merion has not hosted the U.S. Open in 32 years, but the weather maybe a issue with heavy rain forecasted for the area today with delays already occurring.
