The Wyoming Cowboys remain unbeaten as they nipped SMU on the road in Dallas 59-56 Wednesday night. The Pokes became the first men's basketball team in school history to win their first 13 games. Leonard Washington saved the day for the Pokes with 19 points and 11 rebounds. He had 15 of those points in the 2nd half, with 13 coming in the final 6 minutes. Larry Nance Jr. added 12 points for the Cowboys. Wyoming was playing without the team's second leading scorer Luke Martinez who is out with a broken hand after a weekend off campus incident. The Cowboys who usually shoot well from the foul line where just 12 of 21. UW opens up Mountain West Conference play next Wednesday when they host Boise State at the AA.

The Wyoming Cowgirls are home tonight at the AA when they host South Dakota Tech. The Cowgirls are 10-2 on the season after beating Loyola Marymount last week 84-68. South Dakota Tech is 9-5. Tip-off is at 7:00pm.

Kelly Walsh boys and girls basketball teams are in Riverton for the East-West Invitational Tournament. Both teams will match up with the Sheridan teams tonight. That tournament continues through Saturday.

Twenty-first ranked  Louisville pulled off the biggest upset of the college football bowl season as the Cardinals beat 3rd ranked Florida 33-23 Wednesday night in the Sugar Bowl. Both teams finished the season at 11-2. Tonight it's the Fiesta Bowl as 5th ranked Oregon takes on 7th ranked Kansas State. Both teams come in at 11-1.

Denver  as the AFC's top seed going into the NFL playoffs have a bye weekend as they get ready to host one of the conference semifinals on Saturday Jan. 12th.  New England receives the other AFC bye. The AFC games this weekend have Cincinnati at Houston on Saturday and Baltimore hosting Indianapolis on Sunday.

The NFC playoff games this weekend have Minnesota at Green Bay on Saturday night and Seattle at Washington on Sunday. Atlanta and San Francisco receive first round byes.
