The Wyoming Cowboys have extended their season by accepting an invitation to the College Basketball Invitational Tournament. The Pokes will open up at home hosting Lehigh Tuesday night at the AA. The Cowboys at 19-13 overall and an RPI of 74, but did not receive an NIT bid, probably due to the fact that the Mountain West Conference record was 4-12 and went 1-1 in the conference tournament. Lehigh comes in at 21-9 and 10-4 in the Patriot League.

The Mountain West Conference had a record 5 teams qualify for the NCAA tournament. League champion New Mexico is a 3 seed in the west and will play Harvard in Salt Lake City on Friday. UNLV is the 5th seed in the east and takes on California in San Jose on Thursday. San Diego State is the 7th seed in the south and draws Oklahoma in Philadelphia on Friday. Colorado State is the 8th seed in the midwest and will have Missouri in Lexington on Thursday. Boise State will be in one of the play-in games on Wednesday and they'll meet LaSalle in Dayton. That winner will be the 13th seed in the west and play Kansas State.

The Wyoming Cowgirls will be in the WNIT and those bids will come out later tonight after the NCAA tournament bids are announced. The Cowgirls lost a heartbreaking 63-62 decision to eventual conference champion Fresno State. The Cowgirls are 24-7 and will likely host an WNIT game Thursday night.

Indoor football and after 2-games, the Wyoming Cavalry are still looking for a win. They lost the season opener two weeks ago to Cedar Rapids 54-12. Then on Saturday they lost to Sioux Falls 67-7. The Cavs will be at Nebraska this Friday night.
