The Wyoming Cowgirls with a narrow win over Colorado State Thursday night in the quarterfinals of the Mountain West Conference Basketball Tournament 60-58. The Cowgirls tailed by as many as 14 points. Wyoming shot just 30 percent from the field in the first half and CSU was 50 percent from the field. Kayla Woodward (Sheridan) led the Cowgirls in scoring with 17. Kaitlyn Mileto had 14 points, but UW's leading scorer and rebounder Chaundra Sewell was held to just 5 points with 11 rebounds. The Cowgirls match up with Fresno State whom they spilt with during the regular season at 3:30pm. That game on AM 1030 KTWO. The other women's semifinal has New Mexico and San Diego State. The men's conference semifinals tonight has New Mexico and San Diego State and UNLV and Colorado State. The tournament wraps up with the title games Saturday at the Thomas and Mack Center in Las Vegas.

A number of events are going on this weekend in Casper and Gillette. In college rodeo, the spring season kicks off in Gillette. Through the fall season, the Casper College men are in 4th place in the Central Rocky Mountain Region. That's starts today through Sunday. Saturday and Sunday is the Casper youth basketball tournament with close to 180 teams participating from throughout the region. Kelly Walsh will host a 16-team high school soccer jamboree on Saturday at their complex. Natrona will host the Glen Legler Memorial Early Bird Invitational Track and Field Meet with field events starting at 10:00am and running events at 11:00. Some 17 teams are expected to participate.
