Denver Bronco Safety Brian Dawkins announced his retirement this week after 16 years in the NFL. He may have had a Hall of Fame career with 9 Pro Bowl selections, 7 with Philadelphia and 2 with Denver, the 2nd most ever for a safety.

Dawkins plans to spend more time with his family, tutor some of the current Broncos, and maybe coach some high school football.

The Colorado Rockies lost Tuesday night to the Pittsburgh Pirates 5-4. For the Rockies, Carlos Gonzoles hit 2 home runs. Andrew McCutcheon with 3 RBI's for the Pirates who tied and took the lead in the 8th inning. The two teams are playing a day-night doubleader to wrap up the series. Their game on Monday night was postponed because of rain.

Natrona High School diver Wayco Bailey will continue his diving in college. Bailey signed a national letter to attend Rider University in Lawrenceville, New Jersey. Bailey took 2nd place at the state meet in February and also finished 10th in the nation at a recent AAU meet. Bailey also owns the diving records at Kelly Walsh and Riverton.
