I hate spam and those who send it. When I got this email through a business website for my wife and me, I wanted it to stop immediately, and I wanted revenge.

If Re:Scam was still around, you could forward those spam emails so their AI program will waste their time with endless questions to gum up their works.

Other sites come and go, such as MailBaitRevenge SpamRevengeToolSpam My EnemyThe Payback, or if you have Visual Basic skills, you can write your own email bomb program. DigiCrime will sign your person up to receive all the junk mail they can handle. Then, there’s the sketchy black hat world of dealing with jerks, but there are legal considerations that can land the good guy in trouble. That could happen if I followed my urge to find his information and then knock on his door.

I do not endorse any of these websites, they are for informational purposes only. Plus, you should use common sense before gratifying your desire for justice.

My spammer did not include an opt-out link, which I would never click on anyway, for security reasons and not validating my address and getting more spam. Never click on links in spam email - including "unsubscribe" links, use a disposable email account.

The CAN-SPAM Act, is a 2003 law with harsh penalties for commercial entities sending unwanted email messages. Each violation is subject to penalties of up to $40,654.

So while I consider keeping a note with his email address to copy & paste every time I get a website popup asking if I would like to receive updates, an act best done from a library or coffee shop computer, not my own device.

While I wish this site would come back.

We would be better off having a sense of humor about it.
