The Casper Ghosts opened up their seven game homestand with a 12-2 win over Great Falls Monday night at Lansing Field. The Ghosts banged out 17 hits off of Voyager pitching.

Will Story led the Ghosts hitting going 3 for 5 with two triples, a home run and three RBI's. Harold Riggins also went 3 for 5 with three RBI's. Casper  got another well pitched performance from Danny Winkler who threw 7-innings, giving up two runs and five hits while striking out eight. Monday night's attendance was 1042.With the win and Orem's loss to Missoula 8-4, both Casper and Orem are 10-5 and atop of the South Division of the Pioneer League. Game two tonight at 7:05pm on AM 1400 ESPN.

The New York Mets have signed Cheyenne product Brandon Nimmo to a contract that includes a $2.1-million signing bonus. Negotiations went down to the final minutes before the deadline of 10:00pm Mountain Time on Monday night. Nimmo was the Mets first round draft pick and will start playing in Port St. Lucie, Florida. This past season, Nimmo led Post 6 of Cheyenne to the state legion title hitting over .550, driving in 99 runs and striking out just 13 times with just one error in the field.

The Colorado Rockies picked up a rare ninth inning come from behind win Monday night defeating the Florida Marlins 7-4 in Denver. The Rockies scored four runs in the bottom of the ninth, thanks to a three-run homer from Jason Giambi. Prior to Monday's game the Rockies were 0-55 this season when trailing after eight innings. The Rockies and Marlins play game two of their series tonight at Coors Field.
