The State High School Cross Country Championships were held in Sheridan on Satyurday. In the 4A boys race , that was won by Jonah Henry of laramie with a winning time of 15.22. Laramie also won the team title for the 2nd straight year. Rock Springs took 2nd with Kelly walsh and Gillette tied for 3rd.  The 3A boys winner was Cody Peck from Star Valley in 15.56. Star Valley repeated as state champions with Jackson taking 2nd and Newcastle finishing 3rd. In 2A boys, Wilson Clifford of Wyoming Indian repeated as the individual state champion. The Chiefs also won their 10th state championship in the last 11 years.

On the girls, Gillette won the state championship with a 1-2-3 finish as Tabitha Simmons finished in first place with a time of 19.15. Laramie was 2nd in the team standings and Rock Springs was 3rd. Cody earned the 3A girls title this year with Star Valley finishing 2nd and Jackson taking 3rd. The inidividual champion was Anna Gibson of Jackson with a winning time of 18:43. In 2A, the cmbined squad of Pine Bluffs and Burns won their 4th consecutive state title by just 4 points over Wyoming Indian. Freshman Charlene Brown of Wyoming Indian was the individual state champion with a winning time of 19.43
