The Denver Broncos open up the 2011 season tonight when they host AFC West Division rival Oakland. The Broncos are coming off one of their worst season in recent memory at 4-12 last year. First year coach Jon Fox has the task to get a defense straightened out that was one of the worst in the NFL last year. The Broncos were 2-2 in the preseason and the Raiders were 0-4. It's the first time the Broncos will open the season at home since 2004.

The Wyoming Cowboys posted a big win on Saturday as they routed Texas State 45-10. The Cowboy offense rang up over 600 yards with 382 of those on the ground as both Brandon Miller and Ghaali Muhammend went over 100 yards. Quarterback Brett Smith was impressive for the second straight week as he completed 16 of 31 for 236 yards and scored two touchdowns of 29 and 2 yards. The Cowboys are on the road for the first time this season at Bowling Green (2-0) this Saturday morning with kickoff at 10am.

High school football from over the weekend. Top ranked Natrona survived Cheyenne Central 20-13. And Kelly Walsh is still looking for their first win after dropping a 41-14 loss to Laramie. The Mustangs are in Rock Springs for the Prep Game Of The Week on AM 1400 ESPN on Friday at 7:00. Kelly Walsh returns home to face Gillette at Harry Geldien Stadium with a 7:00pm kickoff Friday.
