Preseason NFL footbll from Sunday afternoon as the Denver Broncos lost to the San Francisco 49er's 29-24. But the main story of the game was Bronco quarterback Peyton Manning who looked sharp in his third exhibition game with the team.

Manning completed 10 of 12 for 122 yards and 2 touchdowns to Eric Decker in the first half. The Niners back ups outscored the Broncos second and third stringers 19-0 in the second half, including 5 field goals from David Akers.

The Wyoming Cowboys begin game week preparations today as they get ready for the season opener at Texas on Saturday. Kickoff is at 6pm. Cowboy football this season can again be heard on AM 1030 KTWO.

High school football kicked off on Friday night with the Casper schools spliting their games on the road. Top ranked Natrona ran over Cheyenne South 69-8. Kelly Walsh lost to Cheyenne East 30-10. The Trojans travel to Evanston Friday night with a 6pm kickoff. The Kelly Walsh/Evanston matchup will be the Prep Game of the Week AM 1400 ESPN. Natrona travels to Sheridan to play the 2nd ranked Broncs with a 7pm kickoff.

In Major League baseball, The Colorado Rockies lost to the Chicago Cubs 5-0 in a game shortened to 8 innings due to rain. Cub pitcher Chris Volstad earned his first win in 13 months, and either had a loss or received a no decision in his last 24 starts. The Rockies will be in Los Angeles tonight.
