UNDATED (AP) — The Los Angeles Dodgers kept a pair of winning streaks alive by staging an impressive late-innings rally in Toronto on Tuesday.

The Dodgers won for the 22nd time in 27 games by turning an 8-3 deficit into a 10-9 win over the Blue Jays in Toronto. The Jays were clinging to an 8-6 lead in the eighth until Adrian Gonzalez launched a three-run homer and Andre Ethier (EE'-thee-ur) hit a solo shot two batters later.

Gonzalez, Ethier and Mark Ellis each finished with three RBIs in the Dodgers' fifth consecutive victory, which keeps them atop the National League West standings, just a month after they fell 9 ½ games behind Arizona. Los Angeles also owns a nine-game road winning streak, its longest in nine years.

The Diamondbacks remain a half-game behind the Dodgers after A.J. Pollock and Eric Chavez drove in three runs apiece in a 10-4 pounding of the Chicago Cubs. Patrick Corbin is 12-1 after holding the Cubs to a run and four hits in six innings.

The Giants halted a three-game skid and gained a split as their bullpen tossed 4 1/3 innings of scoreless relief in a 5-3 win against the Reds. Pablo Sandoval doubled home a pair of runs in the first inning to put San Francisco ahead to stay.

Gerrit Cole poked an RBI single and combined with three relievers on a three-hitter as Pittsburgh handed Washington its fifth straight loss, 5-1. Pedro Alvarez homered and Russell Martin had three hits to back Cole, who gave up just a run and two hits in seven innings to help the Pirates pick up their third straight win and move 20 games over .500.

Carlos Torres gave up a leadoff homer to Andrelton Simmons before blanking Atlanta over six innings to lead the New York Mets to a 4-1 triumph over the Braves. Torres also tied the game with an RBI single in the third before Ike Davis laced an RBI double to spark the Mets' three-run sixth.

Baltimore's season-high five-game winning streak is over after former Oriole Bruce Chen held them to a run in six innings of Kansas City's 3-2 win over the Birds. Greg Holland surrendered Adam Jones' RBI triple with nobody out in the ninth before preserving the victory.

The New York Yankees blew a 3-0 lead before scoring twice in the ninth off closer Joe Nathan to beat Texas 5-4. The Rangers had been 51-0 when leading after eight innings before Eduardo Nunez hit a game-tying triple and Brent Lillibridge singled him home.

The Rangers still trail the AL West by three games to Oakland after the Athletics blew a 4-2 lead in the ninth inning of a 5-4 loss at Houston. Brandon Moss belted a two-run homer to put the A's ahead 4-2 in the eighth, but the Astros tied the game on a two-run blast by Matt Dominguez before Jonathan Villar scored the winning run on catcher Derek Norris' throwing error.

Rick Porcello tossed seven shutout innings and Detroit took advantage of four errors to score three unearned runs in a 6-2 win over the White Sox. Jhonny Peralta hit a solo homer and an RBI single to help Porcello win his third consecutive start and stretch the Tigers' lead in the AL Central to 3 ½ games over Cleveland.

UNDATED (AP) — The Pittsburgh Pirates will spend the next two weeks without their closer as they try to secure their first playoff berth in 21 years.

The Bucs have placed National League saves leader Jason Grilli on the 15-day disabled list with a right forearm strain. The All-Star suffered the injury in the ninth inning of Monday's win over Washington.

Grilli has left the team to return to Pittsburgh and will be examined by team doctors. The All-Star right hander is 0-1 with a 2.34 ERA and 30 saves.

Manager Clint Hurdle said Mark Melancon (meh-LAN'-sehn) will assume the closer's role in Grilli's absence.

Meanwhile, another contender has bolstered its bullpen. The Baltimore Orioles have acquired Francisco Rodriguez from the Brewers for minor league infielder Nick Delmonico.

The 31-year-old Rodriguez is 1-1 with 10 saves and a 1.09 ERA in 25 appearances this season. He saved a major league-record 62 games in 2008.

Dodgers outfielder Matt Kemp thinks suspended Milwaukee slugger Ryan Braun should be stripped of his 2011 National League MVP award. Kemp finished second to Braun in the balloting that year before Braun tested positive for elevated testosterone. Major League Baseball attempted to suspend Braun for the failed drug test, but the penalty was overturned by an arbitrator who ruled Braun's urine sample was handled improperly. Braun agreed Monday to a 65-game suspension for unspecified violations of baseball's drug rules and labor contract.

The Brewers have replaced Braun on their 25-man roster, recalling outfielder Khris Davis from Triple-A Nashville. Davis is hitting .176 in 15 games with Milwaukee this season.
