As of 4:30 p,m. today, the Natrona County School District anticipates all schools and district offices will be open Tuesday after the storm has moved on, according to a news release from the district.

The Riverton office of the National Weather Service says the winter storm that dumped a foot of snow in the Casper area will be gone. However, it forecasts conditions to be mostly sunny and cold, with a high near 8 and wind chill values as low as -25. West winds will range from seven mph to 13 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.

School district officials will closely monitor the weather over the next 24 hours. Any updates or changes will be shared as soon as possible via text, phone call, NCSD social media and other media.

The following buses that provide specialized transportation services will not be running: Bus numbers: 27, 41, 44, 47, 48, 57, 65, 69, 70, 78, 84, 86, 91, 94, 96, 100, 101, 102, 105, 111, 141, 142, 144, 191, 193, and 194.

Primary bus routes and the bus hub will be operating as scheduled.

As always, the primary responsibility in protecting a child’s health and school attendance always resides with the parent or guardian.
