UNDATED (AP) — Three teams, the Bruins, Ducks and Kings, can advance to the second round of the NHL playoffs with a win tonight. The Bruins top the Maple Leafs 3-1 while the Kings lead the Blues 3-2 and the Ducks top the Red Wings 3-2. Tonight's other game has Washington playing host to the Rangers with the series tied at 2-2.

UNDATED (AP) — It's back to business in the NBA playoffs after taking Thursday off. In Chicago the Bulls and Miami Heat are set to resume play after splitting the opening two games in Miami; and in Oakland, Calif., it'll be Game 3 for the Spurs and Warriors. That best-of-seven series is also tied up at 1-1.

PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. (AP) — The second round of The Players Championship is underway in Ponte Vedra (PAHN'-teh VEE'-druh) Beach, Fla. The leader at the end of play yesterday was Roberto Castro, who fired a bogey-free 9-under-63. In early results this morning, Kevin Chappell is 5-under for the day through eight holes. He stands at minus-8 for the tournament.

DARLINGTON, S.C. (AP) — Pole qualifying is on tap today in Darlington, S.C., for tomorrow night's Southern 500. Entering this week's race the points leader is Jimmie Johnson by 43 points over Carl Edwards.

TORONTO (AP) — Pittsburgh's Sidney Crosby, Washington's Alex Ovechkin (oh-VEHCH'-kihn) and Tampa Bay's Martin St. Louis (saynt loo-EE') are the finalists for the Ted Lindsay Award. The honor is presented annually to the most outstanding player in the NHL. All three have previously won the award.
