The Denver Nuggets are in serious trouble of losing in the first round of the NBA playoffs, a 105-101 lost to the Golden State Warriors on Sunday in Oakland. The Nuggets find themselves down 3 games to 1 in the best of 7 series. Stephen Curry once again leading the way for the Warriors with 31 points, 22 of those points coming in the 3rd quarter. Curry had 5 3-pointers in that 3rd quarter as Golden State took a 20 point lead. Ty Lawson had 26 for the Nuggets. Game 5 will be held Tuesday night in Denver.

The Wyoming Cowboys went through their spring football game on Saturday in Laramie. The offense defeated the defense 92-60. Three quarterbacks split time with starting quarterback Brett Smith throwing for 168 yards and 3 touchdowns with no interceptions. Receiver Jalen Claibourne had 5 catches for 100 yards and 2 touchdowns. Robert Herron with 4 catches for 116 yards and 2 touchdowns. One defense linebacker Lucas Wacha had 8 tackles. Marquestion Huff had 6 tackles and an interception return for a touchdown.

About a half dozen former Cowboy players signed free agent deals with NFL teams. Oakland signed 3 of them, offensive lineman Kyle Manusson and Josh Leonard along with Kurt Taufaasau. San Francisco signed defensive tackle Mike Purcell, linebacker Korey Jones signed with Arizona. Offensive lineman Nick Carlson signed with Tampa Bay.

The Colorado Rockies lost to the Arizona Diamondbacks 4-2 on Sunday. Gerardo Parra tripled and scored twice for the D-Backs. The Rockies are tied with Arizona for first place in the National League West Division, but have lost 6 of their last 8 games.

In the National Hockey League, the Colorado Avalanche have fired Head Coach Joe Sacco after 3 unproductive seasons. The Av's finished the strike shorten season at 16-25-7, finishing last in the Western Conference.
