Number 2 Gillette ran off 27 unanswered points in route to  a 41-21 win over number 5 Kelly Walsh Friday at Gillette. The Camels (4-0) snapped the Trojans (2-2) 2-game win streak.Gillette was able to use a balance attack of running and passing in the win. Camels quarterback Austin Fort had an outstanding night finishing 15 of 25-1 for 225 yards. Fort also ran for 82 yards and had a 20 yard touchdown run. Running back Taylor Bigelow led the Camels with 98 yards rushing and 3 touchdowns. The Camels had a total of 482 yards adding 257 yards rushing. Cornerback Matt Fogle added a touchdown with a 44 yard interception of a Jacob Tapp pass.

For the Trojans, They would take their only lead in the game on a Tapp to Kirk Durtsche 18 touchdown pass play in the second quarter.  The Trojans ended up with 338 total yards. Tapp threw for 102 yards on 9 of 15-1. His top receiver was Durtsche who had 3 receptions for 36 yards.  KW ran for 236 yards. They were led by John Fabrizius with 126 yards on 23 carries, but was injured in the second quarter while playing  defense. He did return in the second half but only gain 13 yards on 5 carries. And Leighton Burgen who had 105 yards on 11 carries including a 2nd quarter 70-yard touchdown run.

The Trojans return home next Saturday night when they host the annual Oil Bowl Game with cross-town rival Natrona. The top ranked Mustangs (4-0) rolled over Rock Springs 58-7 on Friday night at NC Stadium. Again that game has been moved to Saturday to allow Natrona Head Football Coach Steve Harshman to be inducted into the Black Hills State University Athletic Hall of Fame Friday night in Spearfish South Dakota. Kickoff is set at 6:00pm with the pregame show at 5:45pm on AM 1400 ESPN.
