The Wyoming high school football regular season has two weeks remaining. Some teams will try to lock up playoff berths, some have already made the playoffs and are looking to seal a certain seed and others are trying to get in.  Kelly Walsh is one of those teams trying to secure a berth in the 4A playoffs. The Trojans (2-5) have two road games remaining in the regular season and basically needs to win one of those games and have Rock Springs (2-5) go 1-1. Kelly Walsh is at second ranked Sheridan (6-1) Friday night in our Prep Game of the Week on AM 1400 ESPN. Pregame show at 6:45 with kickoff at 7:00pm. The Trojans will also play at Cheyenne Central  next Friday night. Rock Springs hosts  Central (3-4) this Friday and then goes to Cheyenne South (0-7) next Friday. For the Natrona Mustangs (7-0), it's plain and simple,  beat Laramie (2-5) at home Friday night and claim the top seed in the upcoming playoffs. If not, it will come down to the final game at Gillette next Friday night. Natrona's game at Cheney Alumni Field starts at 7:00pm.

The Texas Rangers took a big step towards a repeat appearance in the World Series with a 7-3 win over Detroit on the road in 11-innings to lead the American League Championship Series 3 games to 1. Mike Napoli drove in the go ahead run in the top half of the 11th, then Nelson Cruz belted his third home run of the series, a three-run jack. Cruz also had a grand slam homer also in the 11th inning of game two. Game-5 this afternoon, the Tigers will go with their ace Justin Verlander and the Rangers will counter with C.J. Wilson.

In the National League Championship Series, the St. Louis Cardinals scored four times in the first inning and held on to beat the Milwaukee Brewers 4-3 to lead the series 2 games to 1. Albert Puhols has been hot lately for the Cardinals from the plate. He had a run scoring double in that first inning. The Brewers have lost eight straight playoff games on the road. Game-4 will be played tonight in St. Louis.

The media preseason poll for the Mountain West Conference for Men's Basketball has the Wyoming Cowboys picked to finish sixth under new coach Larry Shyatt. New Mexico was picked to finish first, followed by UNLV, San Diego State, Colorado State, Air Force and Wyoming. TCU and necomer Boise State is picked eighth.
