The National Weather Service in Riverton has issued a Red Flag Warning for Natrona County and other parts of Central and Southwest Wyoming from noon until 7:00pm on Wednesday, April 25th. NWS Meteorologists say low humidities, unseasonably warm temperatures and strong gusty winds will create erratic fire behavior and new fire starts.

The affected areas include Natrona and Fremont Counties in Central Wyoming, and Sweetwater County in Southwest Wyoming. The forecast calls for Southwest winds with gusts up to 30 m.p.h., humidity as low as 12 percent, and temperatures in the upper 60s to lower 70s.

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now or will shortly.
