The Colorado Rockies lost to the Arizona Diamondbacks Thursday night 3-2 in Phoenix. Paul Goldschmidt hit a 2-run home run in the 4th inning giving the D-Backs the edge. Game 2 of the 4 game series is tonight.

In the NFL Draft, the Denver Broncos chose defensive tackle Sylvester Williams from North Carolina with their first round pick at the 28 spot. He had 20 tackles for a losses and 8 sacks over 2 years with the Tar Heels.

In high school soccer, the Natrona girls beat Riverton 5-1 on Thursday as the Fillies move to 9-2-1 on the year. The Natrona boys lost to Riverton on the road 4-0. The Kelly boys will be at home tonight hosting Rock Springs. The Kelly Walsh girls will be on the road at Rock Springs.

The Wyoming Track Classic will be held this afternoon at Kelly Walsh. This is an all class meet with athletes competing straight up regardless of classification. Events get underway at 4:00pm at Harry Geldein Stadium.

Two Casper College volleyball players have signed letters of intent to Eastern Washington. Stasha Panic and Milica Nisavic will be on their way to Cheney, Washington. Panic finished her juco career with 821 kills. Nisavic was named the Region-IX North setter of the year with 2246 assists in her career. Both players are from the same town in Serbia.

The Wyoming Cowgirls get an additional player as former Gillette all-stater Jordan Kelly will transfer from Washington State and join the Cowgirl program. Kelly sat out all of last year with the Cougars due to an injury and played off the bench her freshman year. Due to NCAA rules she will sit out this coming season and will have 2 years eligibility remaining. Kelly was a 2 time Gatorade Player of the Year in 2010 and 2011 averaging 24 points a game.
