Junior college volleyball tonight as Casper College with a home match against Sheridan College. The T-Birds are 15-9 on the season and coming off a 3-game sweep of then 13th ranked Central Wyoming of Riverton. The match gets underway at 7pm at Erickson Gym.

The regular baseball season is over and now onto the playoffs. Oakland won the American League West Division with a win over Texas Wednesday afternoon 12-5. The A's were 5 games behind the Rangers with 9 games remaining and trailed by as much as 13 games back on June 30th. The New York Yankees clinched the AL East title by beating Boston 14-2. Earlier in the night, the Yankees basically wrapped it up as Tampa Bay beat Baltimore 4-1. 

Also Detroit's Miguel Cabrera made history by becoming the first player in 45 years to win batting's Triple Crown. Cabrera led the American League in home runs with 44, RBI's with 139 and a batting average of .330. The last guy to win the Triple Crown was Carl Yazstremski of Boston in 1967.

The Colorado Rockies finished a bad season with a 2-1 win over the Arizona Diamondbacks Wednesday night. The Rockies finished with a 63-98 record, 31-games behind NL West Champion San Francisco. The 98 losses were a team record.

The wildcard games will be on Friday with Baltimore/Texas in the American League, and Atlanta/St. Louis in the National League.

The Prep Game of the Week this Friday night has Kelly Walsh at Cheyenne South. The Trojans (3-3) are coming off a road win at Rock Springs 25-20 last Friday. The Bison (0-6) lost to Evanston 14-12. Kickoff is at 7:00pm with the pregame show at 6:45 on AM 1400 ESPN.  Top ranked Natrona (6-0) will play host to Evanston (2-4). Kickoff is at 6:00pm from Cheney Alumni Field at NC Stadium.
