The Casper College volleyball team won their home opener last night at Erickson Gym beating LCCC of Cheyenne 3 games to none. Scores were 25-15, 25-20 and 25-19.

The T-Birds will turn around and host Northeastern Colorado from Sterling tonight at 7pm.

In high school volleyball from Tuesday night, Kelly Walsh won round one of their battle with cross-town rival Natrona in 3 games. Scores were 25-19, 25-17 and 25-13. Kelly Walsh improves to 9-5 overall and Natrona drops to 4-9. Both of the Casper schools are on the road on Friday. Kelly Walsh goes to Green River and Natrona is at Evanston.

Natrona remains the number one ranked team in the latest Wyopreps.com, Coaches and Media football poll this week. The Mustangs picked up 18 of the 20 first place votes. Gillette moves into the number 2 spot and has the other 2 first place votes. They are followed by Cheyenne East, Sheridan and Cheyenne Central. Kelly Walsh was the only other team to pick up votes. Natrona will host Central in their home opener this Friday night in the Prep Game of the Week on AM 1400 ESPN. Kickoff is at 7pm with the pregame show at 6:45pm.

Powell, Lovell, Cokeville and Snake River remain number 1 in their respective football polls this week. There are two featured games this week in the state. In 4A, #2-Gillette is at #3-East and in 3A, top ranked Powell will host #3-Buffalo in their new stadium. For a complete look at this week's football poll, go to wyopreps.com

In Major League baseball, the Colorado Rockies posted a 6-0 road win at Atlanta on Tuesday night. Former Casper player Jordan Pacheco homered  along with Carlos Gonzoles. 4 Rockies pitchers combined on a 9-hit shutout. Those 2 teams wrap up that series in Atlanta tonight.
