The Colorado Rockies lost to the Tampa Bay Rays 8-3 on Sunday at Coors Field. The Rockies did hit 3 home runs, one of them by rookie and former Casper player Nolan Arenado who hit a grand slam on Saturday. The Rockies are 18-13 and are in second place in the National League West Division. Colorado has today off and will host the New York Yankees starting Tuesday night at Coors Field.

In American Legion baseball, the Casper Oilers with 2 wins over the Rapid City Expos 10-9 and 12-1 over the weekend to get to 7-1 on the season. The Oilers will host Wheatland Tuesday night at Mike Lansing Field.

The NBA playoffs resumed Sunday with the opening games in the conference semifinals. In the west, Oklahoma City held off Memphis 93-91 thanks to 35 points from Kevin Durant. The Thunder lead that series 1 game to none. In the east, Indiana defeated New York 102-95 to lead 1 game to none.

The high school soccer regional tournaments will begin on Thursday. The 4A West Regional will be played in Evanston. The Natrona Fillies are the number one seed, so they won't play until Friday and received an automatic berth to the state tournament. The Fillies beat Kelly Walsh 4-0 last week to wrap up the regular season. NC will play the winner of the Evanston-Riverton match Friday at 3pm. Kelly Walsh is the 3rd seed and will take on Rock Springs on Thursday in a loser out match. On the boys side, Kelly Walsh is seeded 2nd and earned a first round bye and a bid to the state tournament. The Trojans will meet the winner of the Green River/Natrona match on Friday. The 6th seeded Mustangs match with Green River will be Thursday.
