The University of Wyoming men's basketball team has earned a second-straight postseason berth for just the 11th time in program history, as the Cowboys accepted an invitation on Sunday to play in the College Basketball Invitational (CBI) presented by Buick. UW will face Lehigh on Tuesday at 7 p.m. MT in Wyoming's Arena-Auditorium.

“I’m proud that our upperclassmen that have won 40 games over the past two seasons have a chance to win a few more in the CBI,” UW head coach Larry Shyatt said. “Our program is excited to face a Lehigh team that we are all familiar with after its huge win over Duke last year in the NCAA Tournament.”

The Pokes compiled an impressive resume this season that included a 19-13 overall record, as UW started the season as one of the final four undefeated teams in the nation. Wyoming also features one of the top scoring defenses in the nation, allowing opponents only 58.4 points per game to rank 22nd in the nation.

Wyoming is making its third appearance in the 16-team CBI and second straight. The Pokes lost to Northeastern in the opening round in 2009, before downing North Dakota State and losing at Washington State last season. This is Wyoming's 25th appearance in a postseason men's basketball tournament, including appearing in 14 NCAA Tournaments, eight National Invitation Tournaments (NIT) and three College Basketball Invitationals. Shyatt has now guided Wyoming to the postseason in each of his three seasons at UW, including an appearance in the 1998 NIT versus Gonzaga.

Three of the CBI's eight First Round games will commence on Tuesday with the remaining five First Round games being played on Wednesday. The Quarterfinal Round will take place on Monday, March 25 with the Semifinal Round games being played on Wednesday, March 27. The best-of-three Championship Series begins on Monday, April 1. Each game will be played at host schools.
