It's interesting to see how the coaches and media will vote, when the pot/rankings get stirred.

Figuring out which team is #1 in 4A is anyone's guess for now and who know what will happen after this coming weekend? Despite losing to Cheyenne Central last weekend (the new #5), Sheridan maintains the #1 ranking, because they beat #2 Cheyenne East at East. The Thunderbirds are back at full strength, now that the suspensions are over, and served notice to #4 Campbell County. The Camels visit the Broncs on Thursday, in a game that could have big impacts on post-season seeding. Meanwhile, Evanston has quietly moved up to #3, heading into their home finale vs. Jackson.

There's no change in the latest 3A rankings. It's Buffalo, Riverton, Cody, Rawlins and Newcastle in that order. The Outlaws beat out the Dogies for #4 by 1 vote, but the 2 teams will take care of that issue, when they play each other Saturday at Newcastle.

Things are a little interesting in 2A. Wind River and Pine Bluffs hold steady at #1 and #2 respectively. Rocky Mountain moves up to #3 this week, by 1 vote ahead of #4 Wyoming Indian, yet it was the Chiefs who beat the Grizzlies 2 weeks ago. WIHS can't worry about that right now. They have some unfinished business on Saturday, at home vs. #5 Lovell...a team that beat them 4 weeks ago, during the Big Horn Basin Shootout Tournament.

This is a big week in the 1A...even if the opponent isn't in 1A. On Saturday, it's #1 vs. #1, and champ vs. champ, when 2A #1 Wind River visits 1A #1 Burlington. Elsewhere, Saratoga is finally ranked at #3. The Panthers only had to beat #5 Encampment twice this season, to get the respect they feel they deserve from the voters. However, the tough part is still ahead for the Panthers, because they have back-to-back conference road games vs. the 2 teams that beat them on their home floor 3 weeks ago. Up first is Cokeville, and then #2 Farson-Eden. As for the rest of 1A, St. Stephens is down 1 spot to #4, while Encampment is down to #5. This coming weekend, the Tigers join Saratoga on that road trip to #2 F-E and Cokeville.
