Kereston Thomas of Rawlins was the star at this year's Wyoming Track Classic that was held Monday afternoon at Kelly Walsh High School. Thomas broke one of the oldest standing records in winning the 100 meter dash.

Thomas ran it in 12.21 breaking the old standard of 12.24 set by Kathy Van Heule of Worland in 1978, the second oldest record at the meet. Thomas also broke her old record in the 200 with a time of 25.06. And she also claimed the 400 meter race. The boys division had two event champions. Justin Melton of Douglas in the 100 and 200 meter dashes and Kyle Sullivan of Powell in the 110 and 300 hurdles. Kelly Walsh is hosting a meet on Tuesday afternoon that was ppd. on Saturday. Regional track meets will be held Friday and Saturday May 13-14 with the state meet in Casper May 19-21.
