If your Thanksgiving travel plans include anything involving Denver, it would be a good idea to check out a report that is predicting record-breaking traffic over the holiday.

AAA announced that they are expecting 54 million people to be traveling over this Thanksgiving holiday. According to them, that is the most since 2005.

They also specifically mentioned Denver as an expected trouble spot with travel times to the airport being upward of an hour and that's from WITHIN Denver. If your traveling from around Casper to Denver, that means adding at least an hour to your expected travel time.

The heaviest time is expected to be between 5:30 pm and 7:30 pm on Wednesday, November 21.

What is AAA's advice on how to deal with this? Here's what they shared from their press release:

In most cases, the best days to travel will be on Thanksgiving Day, Friday or Saturday. Drivers should expect increased travel times on Sunday as most holiday travelers will be making their way home after the long weekend.

This heavy travel and delays will not be news to anyone who dealt with traffic after the solar eclipse in Casper. So, there's that.
