The Billings Mustangs beat the Casper Ghosts Sunday afternoon 9-4 to complete the four game sweep. The Ghosts with the loss, dropped all seven games on the justcompleted road trip. David Kandalis and Angel Reyes hit home runs for the Ghosts. Casper starting pitcher Alex Gillingham took the loss giving up six earned runs in five innings. Casper has basically played themselves out of the playoffs. The Ghosts who at one time here in the second half had a 7-1 record and led the South Division have lost 9 of 10 and are now at the bottom of the division at 11-17, seven games back of Orem. The Ghosts return to Lansing Field Tuesday night to start a six game homestand, the first four with Ogden. First pitch at 7:05pm on AM 1400 ESPN.

The Colorado Rockies beat the Los Angeles Dodgers 7-6 as Kevin Kouzmanoff drove in four runs. The Rockies scored the first five runs of the game and needed five relievers to hold on. The loss snapped the Dodgers five game winning streak.

On the local baseball scene, Casper Youth Baseball Commissioner Marcus Hayden is calling it quits after 11 years. Hayden says it's time to do something else. In his years as Commissioner Hayden watched some 7500 players go through the Casper Youth Program.

The Casper high school football teams spilt on opening night Friday. The defending 4A champion Natrona Mustangs took care of newcomer Cheyenne South 62-0 and Cheyenne East beat Kelly Walsh 52-7. Both teams are at home again this Friday night. Kelly Walsh will host Evanston and Natrona battles Sheridan, with that game on AM 1030 KTWO with a 7:00pm kickoff.

The Wyoming Cowboys enter game week as preparations go into full gear as they host Weber State Saturday night at War Memorial Stadium. And the Denver Broncos are 2-1 in the preseason with 23-20 win over Seattle Saturday night.
