The NFL regular season concluded on Sunday and the Denver Broncos won their 11th in a row drilling Kansas City 38-3. Quarterback Peyton Manning threw for 304 yards and 3 touchdowns and finished the season with 4,659 passing yards which is just 41 yards shy of his career high. The Bronco defense really did a number on the Chiefs.Kansas City had just 119 yards of offense.

With the win and Houston's loss to Indianapolis, the Broncos secured the number one seed in the AFC playoffs and a first round bye. So Indianapolis did Denver a huge favor beating the Texans 28-16. It was the first appearance on the sideline in 3 months for Colts Head Coach Chuck Pagano who has been battling leukemia. Pagano played for the Wyoming Cowboys back in the 1980's. New England moves up to the number two seed in the AFC playoffs with their win over Miami 28-0. Houston slips to number three and will play host to Cincinnati in one Wild Card game. Indianapolis will be at Baltimore in the other AFC wildcard match up this weekend.

In the NFC, Minnesota beat Green Bay 37-34 to secure a playoff spot and will turn around as the sixth seed and go to Green Bay who will be the third seed. Washington won the NFC East with a win over Dallas last night, preventing the Cowboys from making the playoffs. The Redskins will host Seattle with Atlanta and San Francisco receiving first round byes.

In women's college basketball over the weekend, the Wyoming Cowgirls upped their record to 10-2 on the season with an 84-68 win over Loyola Marymount on Saturday at the AA in Laramie. Shaundra Sewell led UW with a career game, 34 points and 17 rebounds. The Cowgirls will play South Dakota Tech this Thursday night at the AA.

The Natrona girls won the Energy Classic in Gillette on Saturday beating the host Lady Camels 46-45. The Fillies had back-to-back 1 point wins in the tournament beating Lynwood, California in the semifinals 43-42.. The NC girls are 8-1 on the year and will open up the new year on Friday at Gillette. The Natrona boys continue to struggle as they lost all three games at the Energy Classic. The Mustangs lost to Bismarck, North Dakota for seventh place 67-38. The Mustangs are now 3-7 on the season, dropping  their last 7 games. They will play at Sheridan on Saturday Jan. 12th at 4:30pm. You can hear that game on AM 1400 ESPN.
