Casper College announced Tuesday that Kevon Davis has joined the school’s athletic staff as assistant men’s basketball coach.

Thunderbird Coach Dan Russell says Davis comes to Casper College via Harcum Junior College in Philadelphia where he helped lead the Bears to the National Junior College tournament the past two seasons. He helped coach several players who have graduated and signed Division I scholarships, Russell says.

Russell says Davis’ experience, as well as his recruiting ties to the northeast and east coast, make him a great addition to the Thunderbird staff. Davis will assist Russell with player development, scouting, along with game and practice planning, game coaching and recruiting.

“Kevon is a coach who knows what it takes to prepare kids for the next level academically and on the court,” Russell says. “He does everything well, and that’s what we demand here at Casper.”

As a player at Harcum, Davis holds the distinction of being the winningest player in Harcum JC history, helping lead his Bear teams to 56 wins over his two years there.

Davis replaces Kasey Riley, who resigned after one year to pursue other interests.
