The Casper Ghosts and the Billings Mustangs split a doubleheader Sunday afternoon after rain forced Saturday's ppd. The Mustangs won the opener 10-6 with the Ghosts winning the nightcap 7-4.

In the opener, Ghosts starter Dan Winkler gave up four runs in four innings. Sam Mende and David Kandalis each had two hits for the Ghosts. In the second game, the Ghosts got home runs from Carl Thomore, Trevor Story and Rosell Herrera. Ghosts starting pitcher Alvin Mejaa  allowed earned runs in his four innings of pitching. The Ghosts are 11-10 in the second half, trailing Orem by two games. Casper is in Great Falls tonight to start a three game series followed by a four game series at Billings. Casper returns home the 30th to face Ogden.

Sunday's have a been a bad day to play baseball for the Rockies this year. After losing 17 consecutive Sunday's, Colorado finally won Sunday, a 5-2 win over the Los Angeles. Former Casper player Seth Smith with a two-run homer in the seventh inning for the win. Kevin Millwood pitched seven strong innnings for Rockies. Colorado is back home at Coors Field tonight to start a series with Houston.

Wyoming's 4A schools kickoff the season with both Casper schools at home. Defending state champion Natrona will host the newest school to the division Cheyenne South at Cheney Field Friday night. And Casper Kelly Walsh will kick off it's season with new coach Jon Vance as the Trojans host Cheyenne East. Both games are 7:00 pm kickoffs with the KW-East game on AM 1030 KTWO.
