City crews will begin resurfacing the Verda James Pedestrian Overpass on Monday, according to a city news release.

During the project, the overpass will be closed to all pedestrian traffic. The work coincides with the Natrona County School District summer vacation and is scheduled for completion by Aug. 31.

Crews prepared for the project Tuesday by moving the recycling depot at Viking Court to city property at 21st Street and Wyoming Boulevard. The temporary depot will open Thursday and will remain there until the project is done.

The project, which will cost $387,509 is funded by the Optional One Cent Sales Tax.

The contract was awarded to Transmission Distribution Services.

For information about the recycling depot, call the city's solid waste division at 235-8246. For information about the construction project, call the engineering division at 235-8341.
