The Casper Cutthroats finally lost a game at home after winning their first 9 games to start the season. The Cutthroats losing to Fort Collins 6-5 in 10-innings Monday night at Mike Lansing Field.The Cutthroats fell behind 4-0 and battled back to force extra innings, but Fort Collins responded with 2 runs in the top of the 10th inning. Casper responded  with just one run in the bottom of the 10th. The Cutthroats are now 10-8 on the year, and will host Fort Collins again tonight at 6pm at Lansing Field.

In American Legion baseball, the Casper Oilers are on the road today in Laramie. The Oilers are 23-21 on the year coming off a doubleheader split with Scottsbluff, Nebraska on Sunday. The Oilers will host the George Tani Tournament starting on Thursday.

The Colorado Rockies got a quality win Monday night as they beat Washington at Coors Field 4-2. The Nationals who lead the NL East Division had their ace on the mound in Stephen Strasburg, who was looking for his 7th straight win. Strasburg gave up 3 runs and 6 hits in 6 innings. Colorado's Dexter Fowler had 2 hits and pitcher Jeff Francis worked 5 effective innings as the Rockies won for just the 4th time in the last 18 games. The Rockies and Nats play game 2 of their series tonight in Denver.

And College baseball has crowned a new national champion, as Arizona beat 2-time defending champion South Carolina 4-1 Monday night. The Wildcats won their first national title since 1986 and denying South Carolina to 3-peat, something that has not been done since USC's dominance in the 1970's.
