Holiday's for me, have always been a time of year that I overate and spent time lounging around the house with my family. As I got older I discovered that not everyone was as fortunate to sit around and do nothing during the holidays. In fact, some families had to fight just to put food on the table and make the best of the situation they were in.

Which is why I'm so happy I live in a town where we want to help our neighbors by putting toys under their tree's and food on their tables.

I've compiled a list of charities that do exactly that for all of us who fall on hard times during the holiday season. If you're in need of some assistance I encourage you to take a gander to see what could impact you over the next couple of months.

In the tradition of putting our kiddos, first Toys For Tots has always done wonderful things not only in our community but nationwide.

Food is an absolute necessity no matter the time of year. Which is why we have a couple of places doing all they possibly can to ensure you don't go without a proper meal. Both Joshua's storehouse and Holy Cross Foodbank are putting together food boxes for low-income families.

Lastly, decorations can really lift your spirit no matter your circumstances. Poverty Resistance is on a mission to make sure you have decorations and a Christmas tree this year. (While supplies last) so you'd better hurry and get over there as soon as you can.

If you are already set for the holidays, you can always donate money or your time for these awesome causes around Natrona County.
