A Casper man accused of sexually assaulting multiple women at gunpoint and forcing another woman to perform a sex act on an infant pleaded not guilty to more than a dozen sexual assault charges Wednesday.

Samuel Barrett was arrested in late June on 17 felony charges, including 14 counts of first and second-degree sexual assault. In addition to the sexual assault charges, Barrett is charged with two counts of sexual exploitation of children and one count of blackmail.

Barrett is looking at spending decades or more behind bars if he's convicted of all charges.

According to a heavily redacted affidavit of probable cause, a woman called Casper police in April and said Barrett held her at gunpoint and forced her to perform oral sex on him. The woman told officers that Barrett had sexually assaulted her 10 years prior to the April incident.

The affidavit alleges that Barrett told the victim he would make up for the previous assault by buying her a vehicle. He convinced the alleged victim to go inside his house when he told her he needed to grab his checkbook, according to the affidavit.

When they made it inside, the affidavit says, Barrett pulled out a pistol and held it to the woman's head.

Fearing for her life, the victim performed oral sex on Barrett, court documents allege.

Court documents note that the pistol could have been a BB gun as officers never found the weapon but did find BBs.

During the investigation, a Natrona County Sheriff's Office investigator notified police that Barrett was under investigation for similar alleged incidents dating from November 2014 through July 2015.

In those incidents, Barrett allegedly held a woman at gunpoint and forced her to perform a sex act on an infant in November 2014.

Barrett allegedly filmed the incident with a cellphone and threatened the victim with the video so she would perform sexual acts on him, according to the affidavit.

Police searched a phone that was seized in the 2015 investigation. On it they found video of Barrett and a woman discussing what could be perceived as an act of prostitution, the affidavit alleges.

When a police detective interviewed the woman, she said Barret offered her $200 to have sex with her, but she refused, court documents state.

According to the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation sex offender registry, Barrett was convicted of second-degree sexual abuse of a minor in 2009.

Barrett is currently free on bond.
