A Casper man died Saturday afternoon when his ATV rolled over him near the west edge of town.

The 61-year-old man, who had not been identified by the Natrona County Coroner's Office as of Tuesday afternoon, was alone when the accident occurred. Investigator Taylor Courtney of the Natrona County Sheriff's Office told K2 Radio News that there was no evidence to indicate that foul play was involved.

Deputies and EMS responded to a field west of the River West subdivision following a report of a deceased person, which dispatch received at 3:17 p.m.

A group of people had discovered the victim beneath a four-wheeler and performed CPR before first responders arrived and declared the man dead.

Courtney said the victim evidently tried to make a turn on a hillside when the ATV rolled. He added that a piece of sagebrush may have contributed to the ATV becoming unstable.

The coroner will determine a cause of death, but had released no information regarding the incident as of Tuesday afternoon.
