A Casper teen pleaded not guilty to charges alleging that he shot another person, leaving them with life-threatening injuries.

Connor Goodman, 18, pleaded not guilty to two counts of aggravated assault in Natrona County District Court Thursday morning. The alleged shooting happened at 12:45 a.m. Sept. 21.

Aggravated assault is punishable by up to 10 years behind bars, $10,000 in fines or both.

An affidavit of probable cause alleges that Goodman was at a house party, "acting tough" and waving a gun around. Goodman also allegedly told Casper police officers that he drank a 24-pack of beer throughout the night leading up to the shooting.

Goodman allegedly said that he was going to show someone the gun before it went off.

After the shooting, Goodman reportedly drove home and hid the gun under his bed, the affidavit says. Police arrested Goodman at roughly 7:45 a.m. the day of the alleged incident.

The gunshot victim was taken to Wyoming Medical Center before being flown to a hospital in Colorado.

Goodman is currently free on bond.
