Cheyenne Man Faces Charges After Hitting Tree in Front of School
Fortunately, no students were hurt when a van crashed into a tree in front of a Cheyenne school this (Monday) morning.
Cheyenne Police Department spokesman Officer Kevin Malatesta says it happened in front of Carey Junior High School around 6:40 a.m.
Malatesta says 35-year-old Daniel Fair of Cheyenne was headed east on E. Pershing Blvd. when he lost control of his van and struck a tree.
"Fair was arrested and faces several charges, including DUI, failure to maintain a lane, no insurance, no registration, possession of methamphetamine and a warrant out of Colorado," said Malatesta.
Malatesta says Fair had to be extricated from the van. He was taken to Cheyenne Regional Medical Center for treatment.
