Cody’s “Beer Mile” May Be The Funniest Athletic Event Of The Year
Are you somewhat athletic but like beer more than working out? This might be right up your alley...
July 20th, Cody, Wyoming presents the first ever - Cody Beer Mile
Here's a quick break down of what the race will look like:
- Chug a beer
- Run 1/4 mile
- Chug a beer
- Run 1/4 mile
- Chug a beer
- Run 1/4 mile
- Chug a beer
- Run 1/4 mile
Four beers, four laps, and the winner gets.... two more beers for free.
There will be a men's race, a women's race, and a team race. So if you only want one beer and to race a quarter mile, grab some buddies. Prizes will be given out to all the winners.
Everyone who finishes the event gets a t-shirt, even if you go really slowly. However, if you puke, you'll incur a penalty lap.
It's also worth noting that you are absolutely required to have a designated driver if you are a participant.
The inaugural event will be at Cody's Park County Complex. If you'd like to participate you need to register before June 15th.
And if you need a little extra motivation, the world's fastest "beer mile" was set last year by a Canadian. Corey Bellemore broke his own record by running/drinking the event in 4:33.6.
