Wyoming head coach Craig Bohl has announced two new additions to the Cowboys 2018 recruiting class in Ja’lani Ellison and Raghib Ismail Jr.

Ellison is a 6-0, 160 pound cornerback from Reseda High School in Reseda, CA. He was rated a three-star recruit by 247Sports.com. Ellison played defensive back, wide receiver and was a kick returner.

In Ellison’s three-year varsity career, he intercepted 23 passes, accounted for 4,382 all-purpose yards and scored 48 combined touchdowns on offense, defense and special teams.

Ellison picked off seven passes and returned two for TD’s last fall during his senior season. He also broke up seven other passes and scored on a fumble return. He made 27 total tackles with 22 solo stops. During his junior season, Ellison led the state of California with 15 interceptions. He returned four of those for touchdowns.

Bohl said in a release from the University of Wyoming, "Ja'lani (Ellison) played both ways in high school as a receiver and as a corner. We plan to utilize his athleticism at the cornerback position. He's not afraid to hit. We love his speed and his ability to make game-changing plays. We believe he has the chance to develop into an outstanding player.”

Ismail Jr. is a 6-0, 180 junior receiver from Cisco Community College in Cisco, TX. He attended TCU his first season in college after staring at Ranchview High School in Carrollton, TX.

Last season Ismail Jr. caught 48 passes for 434 yards and scored four touchdowns. His receptions ranked him No. 21 in the country among junior college players. Ismail Jr. averaged 62 receiving yards per game, which was good for No. 29 in the nation.

Bohl said in the UW release, "Rocket (Ismail) is a young man who brings great speed and athleticism to the wide receiver position. He does a lot after the catch with the ball in his hands. He catches the ball extremely well, catches it away from his body, and will bring great value to the wide receiver room.”

He is the son of Raghib “Rocket” Ismail, who starred at the University of Notre Dame and was runner-up in the 1990 Heisman Trophy balloting. Ismail began his professional career in the CFL with the Toronto Argonauts before a nine-year stint in the NFL with the Raider, Panthers and Cowboys.
